I love the Fall/Winter season, but it is a hectic time of year with one holiday after the next. Halloween decorations are down and now it’s time to get ready for Thanksgiving, with the Winter Holidays looming above the whole time.
This will be our first Thanksgiving in our new home and we have a lot to be thankful for. Big Boy is starting to get a sense of the “have and have nots”, so I would like this Thanksgiving to truly be about being grateful and teaching him to appreciate what we have.
The most important part of Thanksgiving is the meal and I’ve started to leaf through cookbooks to find recipes that are both flavorful and a little different, but with a nod to tradition. No green bean casseroles here (no offense to those who like them, just not my thing). But while the meal is important, I’ve been thinking about how to set the the table for a modern, rustic Thanksgiving. Here are a few items that have a lovely simplicity about them and would set the tone nice for a meal full of gratitude:
