There are a number of things my hubby and I are really looking forward to in the new house. A functional kitchen is #1, but coming very close behind is a master bathroom retreat. We’ve never had a “real” master bathroom, the kind that is attached to the master bedroom and is your exclusive retreat. So, I’ve been gathering inspiration for this important room.
Here are a few chic designs that I adore. You will probably notice they have a few things in common:
1) The color scheme is a classic white and grey
2) The use of Carrara marble tile (a.k.a. Carrera Marble)
3) White cabinets with chrome fixtures
I haven’t taken the time to have a nice bubble bath since I was pregnant with my first son. It is a luxury I miss. As is the case for many moms finding the time to bathe can sometimes be a challenge, so quick efficient showers are your best bet. So I am intent on making the master bathroom, but more specifically the tub, a luxurious experience and we’ve agreed to splurge on a gorgeous sculptural freestanding tub. Can’t wait for my first soak!
At this point I can safely say, that I am going with carrara marble tile, a white vanity. But the devil is in the details and in this case I am struggling with the right pattern for the tile and what sconces will best complement the fixtures.
